Q: Can I meet and interview my caregiver before I hire them?

A: Yes. In fact, you can interview more than one if you would like. You'll have peace of mind knowing that everyone we present will be pre-interviewed, CORI checked and selected based on your unique requirements. If you're not completely satisfied after they start, just let us know and we will promptly provide you with a substitute or replacement caregiver. Remember, an interview is your option, not a requirement.

Q: What happens if my caregiver is sick or cannot come to me?

A: We stand behind you every step of the way. Call us anytime of the day or night and we will make sure that a substitute is ready for you as quickly as possible. We strive to provide seamless coverage and we have a team of caregivers ready and available to go out as needed.

Q: My friends who have used your service after using a traditional employer agency describe Sostek as "the best of both worlds." Can you explain to me what they mean?

A: Sostek provides all of the screening, scheduling, backup, and support services, similar to employer agencies. However, because the caregiver is not employed by Sostek Home Care, it gives the customer complete control over all the things that are important to them, just as if they hand picked and recruited the caregiver on their own. And the cost savings is just an added bonus!

Q: Why should I use Sostek Home Care instead of hiring someone on my own?

A: We are your personal home care facilitators. That means you have our 50+ years of experience and resources at hand but you control the things that are important to you. Our Placement Coordinators assist you through every step of the process and it's a secure feeling knowing our staff is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in the event of any last minute scheduling emergency.  We are your back up at all times!

Q: What are the caregivers allowed to do?

A: Because we are a consumer-directed referral service, this gives you the ability to determine what you want the caregiver to do...from medication management to household management, and everything in between. Their objective is to meet your specific needs. 

Q: What are our rates and the minimum hours of service?

A: Because all of our placements are customized to meet the specific needs of our customers, please contact Sostek Home Care for specific information. There is no minimum number of hours required for service and we can accommodate up to and including twenty-four hours a day, however most caregivers prefer at least a 4 hour shift. 

Q: What if my caregiver needs time off?

A: Sostek Home care is always prepared to provide you with substitute coverage should your regular caregiver need time off. It is always your option  to be with your loved  for any portion of your caregivers time off. Our schedulers work around your preferences...we are very flexible.

Q: Is there supplemental pay for nights, weekends or holidays?

A: There is no supplemental pay for nights or weekends. Many caregivers do require supplemental pay for certain holidays. Please click here to find the Mass Hour and Wage Notice. Please call one of our care coordinators for specific information regarding holidays at 617-244-8560.

Q: How much lead time do I have to give to start services?

A: Oftentimes we are able to start services within 24 hours, however the right caregiver/customer match is what drives this process. 

Q: Does Medicare/Medicaid or long term insurance cover your services?

A: Many of our customers access their long-term care insurance benefits to pay for the services. We are a private pay company and do not accept Medicare or Medicaid.

Q: Do I need to sign a contract?

A: We want our customers to use us because they are fully satisfied with our services and all we require you to sign is a Responsible Financial Party (RFP) Form which identities the individual who will be responsible for payment.
